LTRAV for Friday_2026_07_31
Pre-Market for Friday_2026_07_31
U.S. stock indices completely retraced the dramatic drop from Wednesday with an even more dramatic rally on Thursday. This reinstates the possibility of a bullish resolution out of this multi-month balance area that has been forming since May. Obviously the most important levels to the downside now will be the Wednesday-Thursday lows in the respective indices.

The stock indices remain, for the most part, in a day-to-day chopfest. Even the NQ/NDX refuses to really "release".
There is a Fed meeting on Wednesday. The interest rate decision announcement is at 2:00 PM followed by the press conference at 2:30.

Pre-Market for Friday_2026_07_24
An initiative downside break in all US indices may have begun today. The SPX is still inside its multi-month Balance Area and the NDX is just above a critical downside KRA.There are two levels to watch: 1) the 50% retracement of Thursday's cash session range, 2) Thursday's cash session highs.

Pre-Market for Thursday_2026_07_23
ALL US indices are coiled up in Balance areas of several degrees. Not a good time to be using fade strategies.

The SPX is going to move very sharply, very soon.

No change. CPI tomorrow. That has the potential to tip the SPX/NDX into initiative regime.

Pre-Market for Friday_2026_07_10
US indices had a strong up day, with the SPX leading, followed by the NDX, then the Russell, and then the Dow. The SPX is testing the upper extreme of a multi-month balance area and looks like it wants to be initiative to the upside. If that is the case, the NDX is not going to be far behind and will at least trade higher. This is setting up a situation where if the SPX does indeed spike to a new all-time high and the NDX does not, that's a significant divergence. We will talk about that if and when it happens.
The Dow traded inside of yesterday's range but closed friendly to the bullish case. The Russell closed close to its session high and is right at a significant high-volume node from a balance area that's been in effect for several weeks.

Today's trade had no material effect on current Market Condition in the daily and higher timeframes.

LTRAV for Wednesday_2026_07_08
Pre-Market for Wednesday_2026_07_08
The SPX and the NDX continue to build balance in an increasingly mature structure. The other indices take turns trading in and out of new all-time highs.
The NDX and Russell tested critical downside levels today. Those levels remain very important.

Pre-Market for Tuesday_2026_07_07
U.S. indices were mixed on Monday. The NQ traded and closed at almost the exact midpoint of a multi-month balance area range. The ES is attempting an initiative break out of a balance area. The Dow made new all-time highs and closed on its high and the Russell is flirting with new all-time highs.
This is the same market that we've had the past two months, where we have various indices making new all-time highs every other day and then the NDX and the SPX lagging, chopping around, churning in mature balance areas. There's nothing that suggests the top of any significant duration has formed and as usual the initial signal for that will be if all four of the primary indices that we cover close below a previous day's cash session low.

No Trade Tracking Trades today.
LTRAV for Thursday_2026_07_02
Pre-Market for Thursday_2026_07_02
Wednesday's trade started off very strong and ended very weak. The Russell, the Dow, the Equal Weight S&P, and the New York Composite all traded into new all-time high ground but all reversed sharply into the close. The Russell is in an ascending wedge pattern to the upside, portending a very sharp break one way or the other. Based on today's close, that would be evidence that it's going to break to the downside.
The SPX and NDX had unusually disparate trade activity during the day, with the SPX/ES very very strong and the NDX/NQ relatively weak, actually dramatically weaker than the SPX.
Tomorrow is the last day of trade before the long holiday weekend. It is likely to be whippy, low volume, random. I'll see you guys in the morning.

Pre-Market for Wednesday_2026_07_01
Another strong day in the U.S. indices, with the Russell closing in a new all-time high, the New York composite closing in a new all-time high, the SPX and NDX putting in very strong days with the NDX, and the Dow nearing new all-time highs. The equal weight S&P is not far from a new all-time high so you get the picture. Indices remain bullish.
We are in a holiday week. There's no trading on Friday and the volume will continue to dry up and at this point there is no sign of even a short-term top. That's not to say something couldn't come out of the blue but as long as the cash lows from the previous day's lows hold, you have to give the benefit of the doubt of this market to the upside. It looks like it wants to continue strong into the end of the week and that's the smart thing to do: to give it that benefit of the doubt.
